A Walk of Art, 2009
|
Following on from the success of Art on the Rocks in 2006 came A Walk of Art which once again culminated in an exhibition of process at Broomhill Art Hotel
in September 2009. This time the area of focus was the landscape surrounding Exmoor in North Devon.
At various times throughout 2008 and 2009 I met and worked collaboratively with a number of other artists drawing inspiration from a variety of locations within the area.
Drawing on outside inspiration for subject matter gave me a refreshing break from my ongoing concerns enabling me to return to the disciplines of observational drawing, sketchbook work and photography. I also used the opportunity to experiment with and explore a much more traditional and figurative approach to painting resulting in the Creatures of Exmoor Dead and Alive Series.
There are plans to continue with this project looking at a different location within North Devon. The next exhibition is scheduled at Broomhill for 2011.
